7 West 57th Street is a distinguished addition to Manhattan’s Billionaire’s Row
The design of 7 West 57th Street stands on its own from the neighboring supertall structures and traditional limestone and glass found within the immediate area of midtown.
The project’s design faced a unique set of opportunities due to the compact size and its proximity to the imposing 9 West 57th Street. Rather than compete in scale with the imposing, neighboring 9 West 57th Street also owned by the Solow Building Corporation, Hill West focused on creating a building that was whimsical and elegant. Working directly with Stephen Solow, Hill West created a meticulously crafted structure to bookend the office building.
The building’s facade features an oblique glass front that harmonizes with the grand slope of adjacent 9 West 57th Street. This design choice ensures a seamless integration into the existing architectural landscape. The west facade is adorned with backlit channel glass, enhancing the building’s luminous presence and contributing to the dynamic streetscape.
Inside, 7 West 57th Street offers 15 full-floor two-bedroom residences, each meticulously designed to maximize space and natural light. Each with their own private elevator entrance, the interiors reflect a commitment to luxury and comfort, providing residents with an exclusive living experience in the heart of New York City. Through thoughtful design and attention to detail, Hill West Architects has created a tasteful building with whimsical and sculptural elements.
