Design Technology Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a candidate with 4+ years of relevant professional experience in BIM management, design technologies, and architectural design. Experience with NYC high-end residential, mixed-use buildings, and commercial projects is preferred.
The Design Technology Specialist will report to the Director of Design Technology and support project teams through BIM coordination, technical troubleshooting, office-wide training, and development of office standards. The role applies industry standards and tools to optimize collaboration, model quality, and efficiency. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized individual who takes initiative, can balance multiple projects and deadlines, and enjoys being part of a collaborative environment.
Depending on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, the position may be filled at either Design Technology Specialist or Senior Design Technology Specialist level.
Responsibilities
- Assists with BIM strategy, training development, in-office teaching, and standards deployment to promote company-wide BIM literacy.
- Mentor staff on Revit, office-wide BIM standards, and project-specific workflows.
- Assist project teams with Revit model setup, shared coordinates, worksharing, linking, and file-sharing workflows.
- Perform model health reviews and audits to help project teams resolve issues in accordance with QA/QC standards and client requirements.
- Assists in managing BIM deliverables, progress reports, and lessons learned.
- Organize BIM project meetings, workshops, and review sessions.
- Support clash detection review, model federation, and multidisciplinary coordination in collaboration with project teams and external consultants
- Assists in developing and maintaining BIM standards, protocols, Revit templates, content libraries, and best practices.
- Provides day-to-day technical support, troubleshooting, and software interoperability solutions.
- Support research and evaluation of tools and workflows that improve design and project delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related discipline required.
- 4+ years of experience in BIM, 3D Modeling, with a focus on Autodesk Software Suite & Services.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of architectural documentation, construction, and design processes.
- Advanced proficiency of Autodesk Revit, including parametric family creation, model management, and technical problem-solving.
- Comprehensive understanding of AEC disciplines and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 and working knowledge of Navisworks or comparable model coordination and clash-review tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize support requests and project deadlines.
- Effective verbal, written, and visual communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to staff with varying levels of experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot independently, collaborate with project teams, and take ownership of assigned tasks and initiatives.
An interest in graphic design, systems-based processes, automation, and research and development is preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000-$100,000. The compensation and title offered will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and anticipated level of responsibility.
