Projects Riverside Center Master Plan

The City Council approved the Riverside Center ULURP in 2010.

The ULURP process and resulting rezoning of the Riverside Center site in 2010 transformed a formerly underutilized industrial parcel into a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood that contributes significantly to residential growth on the Upper West Side.

The final master plan, designed through a collaboration between Hill West and French architect, Christian de Portzamparc, enabled the development of thousands of new homes, including affordable housing, alongside essential community amenities. Thoughtfully designed public open spaces and new view corridors reconnect the neighborhood to the Hudson River, enhancing livability and long-term urban vitality.

Hill West served as Architect of Record on four of the five buildings featured in the master plan. Three of the buildings, Waterline Square, were designed in collaboration with Richard Meier & Partners, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, and Rafael Viñoly Architects on Three Waterline Square. The fourth, One West End, was designed in collaboration with Pelli Clarke Pelli.
