Sung Shik Kim, AIA – Associate
Sung Kim is a registered architect in New York State and has over 20 years of planning, architectural, and interior design experience. Kim has extensive knowledge and experience in New York City Zoning Regulations and Building Codes as well as understanding of various city agencies’ approval process. These, along with excellent design skills, make him especially valuable in the early stages of projects. At Hill West Architects, Kim specializes in feasibility studies, rezoning projects, and oversees zoning and code compliance.
Prior to Hill West Architects, Kim spent over thirteen years working extensively on mixed use buildings and urban planning projects, including affordable housing projects in NYC. In addition to being in charge of pre-design phase of all projects, Kim successfully managed number of ground up buildings as well as land use approvals including ULURP applications. Kim also worked as a Senior Manager of Code and Zoning Compliance Division at a prominent NYC Expediting firm. There Kim provided zoning and code peer reviews, compliance plan reviews as well as municipal process analysis.
